O.J. CONFRONTED AT FUNERAL - The Washington Post

LOS ANGELES, SEPT. 14 -- Nicole Brown Simpson's mother says she didn't hesitate to confront O.J. Simpson at her daughter's funeral. Standing next to the coffin, Juditha Brown turned to her son-in-law and asked, "Did you do it?"
"No, I loved your daughter," he replied. But members of the Brown family have their doubts as they recount worries about the sometimes-violent relationship of Nicole and O.J. Simpson in an interview Thursday night with ABC's "PrimeTime Live."
O.J. is described by Brown's sisters as "insanely jealous," "real possessive," and a man whom Nicole Brown had decided to leave by 1992, the year the couple divorced.
Juditha Brown and her daughters describe what many of Brown's friends have already told other reporters: The relationship, before and after divorce, was wracked with problems.

Juditha Brown addresses at least one well-known beating incident between the couple. She tells ABC's Diane Sawyer she "flipped out" when her daughter declined to press charges after a violent fight one New Year's Eve. "She told us they had a big fight and uh, she did not know what she should do, if she should press charges.

The fight, which occurred in 1989, was pursued by prosecutors here and resulted in the former football star pleading no contest to spousal battery.
Brown described her former son-in-law as a "very exhausting man" who wanted control of Nicole.
"He's demanding," Juditha Brown said. "Wear the right clothes. Have her hair right. And you know, everything has to be perfect. She tried and tried and tried and ... she just exhausted herself. She was 18 when she met him, and he was her Daddy all along telling her what to do."
Simpson, 47, faces first-degree murder charges in the slashing deaths of his former wife, 35, and her friend, Ronald L. Goldman, a waiter at a local restaurant. An interview with the family of Ronald Goldman will be broadcast Friday on ABC's "20/20."
