Opinion | Plenty of black American families resemble the Huxtables

Regarding Joe S. Horobetz's July 18 letter, "A 'Cosby Show' caveat":

The African American community in the small town that I (and The Post's Eugene Robinson) grew up in, Orangeburg, S.C., had any number of households, including ours, in which both parents were professionals and resided in the same home.

Every day, here in Prince George's County, I pass by a plethora of households typical of that depicted on "The Cosby Show." They have existed for some time now, here and in many communities across this country. How can anyone say that the Huxtables, the family depicted on that classic TV show, are "unlike real families"?
